The Sin&Co. Team

Meet the Team Behind the Studio

Sin&Co. is led by Founder Jonny Sin and Non-Executive Chairman Michael Sin, bringing together design leadership, international project experience and strategic perspective.

Our strength lies in the people behind the work: experienced, articulate and collaborative, with a shared commitment to purposeful design and considered delivery. We work closely with clients, consultants and specialist partners, building the right team around the needs of each project.

Our international reach is further strengthened through our partners in Spain, bringing additional design and delivery capability across Europe. Together, our London and Auckland teams and our Spanish partners form a connected international network, supporting projects across the UK, Europe and further afield.

Our Leadership Team

Jonny Sin
Founder | Managing Director

Msc, NZ Reg. Architect, FCIAT, ANZIA

Jonny specialises in luxury hospitality, with over 20 years of international experience spanning design leadership, project delivery, hospitality consultancy and development advisory.

Prior to establishing Sin&Co., Jonny spent 14 years at ReardonSmith Architects, latterly as a Board Director, where he led major international projects for clients including The Dorchester Collection, Starwood Capital and The Reuben Brothers. His work has also involved collaboration with leading hospitality brands and operators including Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Accor, Hyatt, Clermont, Wanda Vista and the Montcalm Collection.

He has led complex projects across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, encompassing mixed-use destinations, adaptive reuse, luxury hotels and large-scale urban developments. His approach combines architectural quality with operational performance, spatial clarity and long-term asset value.

At Sin&Co., Jonny leads the studio’s design direction and provides architectural design and hospitality specialist consultancy to developers, operators and investors, supporting projects from early-stage positioning and concept development through to delivery.

Jonny holds a Master's degree in Construction Law with Distinction, bringing an additional understanding of procurement, professional responsibility, risk and the contractual frameworks that underpin project delivery.

Alongside practice, Jonny contributes to the wider hospitality and design industry. He has spoken at industry events including Sleep & Eat and HIX and has served as a design judge for the WIN Awards, The Brit List and AHEAD Awards Europe.

Michael Sin
Non-Executive Chairman

BArch, NZ Reg. Architect, ANZIA

With over four decades of architectural and development experience, Michael has built a career spanning architecture, development, hospitality, healthcare and complex multi-unit projects. His work is characterised by a considered balance of design ambition, commercial understanding and a strong focus on how buildings ultimately serve the people who use them.

Michael has worked extensively across New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific Islands, Asia and the Middle East, with experience involving leading hotel groups and operators including Hilton, Sheraton, InterContinental, Rydges Hotels & Resorts, Castle Resorts & Hotels, Pan Pacific, CPG Hotels and Accor Pacific Group. His wider portfolio includes senior living, healthcare, residential and urban development, giving him a broad perspective across both design and development.

Michael believes that constraints can often become opportunities, and that successful places should be measured as much by how they perform for people as by their architectural form.

At Sin&Co., Michael provides strategic guidance to the studio, drawing on his experience across architecture, development and business to support its long-term direction and growth.

Alongside practice, Michael has contributed to architectural education and industry development. He lectured part-time at the University of Auckland Medical School on hospital and healthcare design philosophy for postgraduate medical practitioners and has spoken at international conferences. He was also a key member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects panel that contributed to the professional review of the New Zealand Building Code when it was first introduced under the Building Act.
